Watching the Packers: Going into Overtime!

I can't believe Tynes missed the chip shot! Bad snap, but the ball was there. Must have been a slight hesitation.

I'd Like to Know What My Levels Are

I'd like to try this test, to get a sense of where i'm at, fitness wise and get my lactic threshold. For $80, it's worth it.

Confederate Motorcycles

I'm not a motorcycle guy at all, but I do like good design. So, I have mixed feelings about this, but mostly lust. I really, really like the way this looks. I wonder how it drives? Who cares, just park it outside the cafe and smile at your good fortune!

Not Much of a Baseball Fan

I'm not much of a baseball fan, but it's been very cool watching the Red Sox win tonight. I taped it on Tivo, and I'm watching it while pecking away at some work. I'm a Packers fan, so I understand the joy, the relief, the validation, that a lot of Red Sox fans must have at finally getting back to the World Series. I felt that way when the Pack went to the '96 Super Bowl. But, I can't imagine the satisfaction the Red Sox fans will feel at both breaking the curse to beat the Yankees AND going to the World Series. Good stuff. Go Red Sox!

Congratulations Phil

Lefty wins it at the end. I watched the first couple holes, and after the debacle in the bunker, I thought he'd collapse and the streak would go one. But, it looks like he's got some steel cajones:

"Mickelson birdied five of the last seven holes and shot 31 on the back nine -- the best finish by a Masters champion since Jack Nicklaus had a 30 in 1986. He closed with a 69."

He looks like he's afraid Ernie Els is going to sneak up on him and take the trophy! Here's the scorecard for his 18. Damn good.

Cycling...

I've got three more months until I leave for France. I really need to bear down now and focus on getting in shape. No more donuts, a little less beer, a lot more riding.

Interviewer: Eddie, how do you get to be so good on the bike?
Eddie Merckkx: Ride lots
